Help Us Rebuild...

The historical Washington Elementary School, built in 1924, still stands in the older part of Green River, Wyoming. A fire in 2019 made the building unusable, though part of it was not damaged. Our goal is to purchase the building, remodel the undamaged portion and use it as a transitional home for single mothers and their children. The severely damaged side will be gutted, and redesigned, preserving the look of the original historical exterior. The interior will include: an auditorium for recitals, receptions, speakers; a conference area to serve community businesses and organizations; office spaces for lease. These sources of income will help maintain the building with little outside financial support. But we need YOUR help to make it happen. Read more...

The old Washington Square building was burned in a fire; it will be fully restored and converted into a residential program for Wyoming single moms through The McKenzie Home project
